Walk through the narrow gate into the old circular harbor and the sheer accumulated weight of the place lands quietly: Venetian stone, Ottoman memory, and the ghost of a 429 BC battle that kept Athens dominant at sea, all compressed into a few hundred meters of curving waterfront.
