Casino Post Office wears the apricot-rendered, arch-windowed body of a Victorian Italianate building, then bolts onto its front a heavy classical portico with paired Ionic columns straight out of the Georgian Revival playbook. The combination is so unusual that the heritage register calls it rare for New South Wales. Built from 1879 and still owned by Australia Post, it has anchored the civic heart of this Richmond River town for nearly a century and a half, and it still sorts the district's mail.
